I am SUCH a geek

I love The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. When Peter Jackson made the LOTR film trilogy, my husband and I were rabid with excitement. We bought the extended cut DVDs when they came out and we still watch even the extras about how they made the model city of Gondor like hungry wolves. It is both cute and yet kind of pathetic.

We don’t care. We are fans.

Needless to say, we are on tenterhooks awaiting the first of the Hobbit movies. Thus, when an opportunity to see the preview posters of the characters came up we jumped on it.

I have read The Hobbit more than once. I have even read it to my elder daughters, who loved it. However, never in any reading did I think about the fact the dwarfs were “young” for their kind. I was always picturing the crusty old dudes from the 1977 cartoon version of the book.

I’ll never make that mistake again. Here are Jackson’s versions of Thorin, and his nephews Fili and Kili:

Wow. Super hawt dwarfs. That was something I never, ever thought was possible.

I am REALLY looking forward to this film!
